How I Won NaNoWriMo

Four easy steps people-
  • When I didn't know what to write, I wrote.
  • I procrastinated homework and wrote.
  • When I had an idea for a future scene, I wrote that.
  • I forced myself to stay up till ~3am writing four nights in a row.
    (And then I got sick!)
:D

Ok, obviously none of those steps are very easy.

But it's true.

My most famous line:
"I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I'M WRITING ANYMORE.
ALL I KNOW IS THAT I MUST WRITE."

Four days I missed the word goal by a couple hundred words, but two days I wrote 4,000 words (the second time was when I won XD).

Obviously this is no small feat, and congratulations to anyone who even tried :)

Now onto rough drafts and writing depression because what I just wrote sucks.

And, also, since this is my universal blog, I can thank everybody!!!

(Beware, there are some repeats :p)

FIRSTLY, Destiny ;D But you already know why I thank you XD

SECONDLY, Flint (anyone else think that's the weirdest name ever?) for also completing it after I talked him into doing it a week late XD

THIRDLY, Sophia, for finding motivation (from me I think, idk) XD

FOURTHLY, my Figment friend Lauren for reviewing my story as I posted chapters and making me feel like what I was writing was actually good and worth while XD

FIFTHLY, Elizabeth, just because you finished it too XD

SIXTHLY, for my real-life friend for chewing up my story and spitting it out in little bits and calling it editing XD Yeah, I know I need it, desperately, so there was no way I could avoid that.

SEVENTHLY, coffee. Oh coffee, I thank you the most. My ever faithful friend who gave me inspiration and kept me awake until 3am to write. *tearing up*

Ooh, check out my pretty and unofficial cover :D

Yes, my pen-name is Paragona. What? I like it :p

Anyway, that there was made by the wonderful Lauren M from Figment. She's an amazing graphic artist, yeah? She's also the artist for the cover of book 2 in the same series.

Which reminds me, if you want to read some of my book, the chapters 1-7 are on Figment :)

(Seriously, this website is freaking amazing, if you haven't checked it out yet, go do it!!)

Another congratulations and huge high-five to everyone, and may I see you next year!! ^_^
(Or, you know, March or July...)

Home Sick - level time!

:D

But first off:

LOL

Anyway, picture time!!

Risakane

Skyta

^_^

And also:

-----------------------

Prologue
“Come on, Risa, don’t die on us! Fight it, love, this isn’t over!”
“You know how ticked the Enclave will be about this.”
“Someone get a Priest, quickly!”
“Forget it, Will, it’s too late.”
The voices rang on every side of me, resonating through my ears pounding with blood. My entire body was sore, my nails peeled back from gripping the sword so hard, from hacking at too many undead limbs. Why wasn’t I fighting anymore? Why were my fingers so cold?
A blurry face comes into view, and my eyes fight to adjust and make out features, but they won’t obey. A hand rests on my cheek, gently, lovingly, and something wet and warm drips on my face.
“Don’t leave me, Risa,” the voice begged. “Remember our promise?”
But I can’t remember anything.
Where was I?
What was happening?
Why were there so many voices?
Who was this person?

Who am I?

“No, Risa!”
“Stop it, no... Will!”
“No, we can still save her!”
Will, look, she shifted back.”
“But - ” The voice is cut off by a smacking sound, as though one person had hit another.
“Snap out of it! Look at her. Look! She’s dead, there’s nothing more you can do.”
“But Risa...!”
“We have a battle to fight. We’re losing, the scourge will overrun us soon, we have to leave.”
Silence. Why had they stopped talking? Who was Risa? Who was dead?
“Alright,” the voice replied reluctantly. “But we’re bringing her.”

“I’m afraid that’s out of the question.”

This new voice made my blood run cold. Colder than I had been already. It was deep, hollow, it stung like a thousand needles. My motionless body retracted, curling then uncurling in painful spasms.
“No! Stop it!”
Malicious laughter only echoed in response. The pain increased. I screamed as something seemed to tear out my eyes, remold my limbs as though they were clay. Nails clamped down on my brain, wanting to tear it apart.
“There is no victory today, pathetic mortals.”
Suddenly the world cleared. Red plains spotted with barren trees were laid out around me. Bodies clad both in white armor splattered with blood and tattered tunics were motionless all around. Two forces were clashed in a bloody battle, fighting over the control of the Scarlet Enclave. Nearby, watching in horror, were two men. One old, a commander, the other young, a soldier.
Will.
I forced to control my hand through the washes of pain, and reached for Will. His eyes lit up for just a moment, and almost moved to reached back for me. “Help... Me...” I gasped, barely audible. But then a chilling sensation washed over my body.
“Risa, no!”
A final burst of pain sent red flashing across my eyes. The last thing I saw was Will’s pleading face, his watery green eyes spilling tears of sorrow, and then my world turned back and I remembered no more.

-----------------------

It'll certainly be updated on Figment, but I'll also probably most likely post it up here too.
Here will be the "clean" version, however the one of Figment.... well.... won't be :p

Cover!!
I don't own the image.

Busy Busy Busy

I've been on Warcraft ALL MONTH.

Skyta is level 55 WHICH MEANS I STARTED MY DEATH KNIGHT!!

And let me tell you, at one point while questing in the Scarlet Crusade territory right at the beginning, there were some feels.

As in, my new character, Risakane, who is a Worgen, had to execute a prisoner. ANOTHER WORGEN. Now, I have a lot of racial pride in this game. Worgen's are my brothers and sisters, Gilneas is my home that I will fight for, I hate all undead and will never play one (Shh DK's don't count :p). When this dude started crying about how I shouldn't have let the darkness overcome me etc, I teared up and then was forced to kill him.

ARGH!

I was half expecting the guy I reported back to to be like "Um... are you crying? Crying is for the weak! Man up!" Anyway...

After finishing that up, I was sent on my way to Stormwind, spoke with King Varian Wyrnn, wandered around lost for a bit, googled what I should do next, FINALLY found the notice bored, accepted my quest to the Outlands, and there I went!

First, I took the boat over to Northrend. It pretty cool there.

Of course, it's Tuesday so I'm kicked off the server until to 2pm (my time). I did, however, come up with a cool fanfic idea for WoW, and depending on how much I write, I may post it up here ^_^ I think I can actually get it right this time. It might seem kinda cliché at first, I mean, following the in-game plot line exactly, etc, but I'm hoping to figure out how to make it unique the further in I get :)

When the server's are back up, I'll get some new screen shots and post them up, since you're probably dying to know what Risakane looks like in all her DK glory XD Skyta looks pretty awesome too :3

NaNo Page Is Up!!

^_^

http://justemmagames.blogspot.com/p/november-2013.html

OR you can find it on the sidebar among my other NaNo year pages beneath the page thingy.

Yay!

PS, check out my profile! XD

Truthfully: Tortoro is my best friend and I'm the daughter of a pirate from Gilneas (my mother is from Darnassus). About four months ago I was turned into a Worgen and became a Shadowhunter and well-paid mercenary ninja (part-time of course), and now I'm traversing Azeroth and Middle Earth for the Ring of Power and Excalibur. Recently I took residence in Wall Rose and joined the Survey Corps in their battle against the Titans and other Dark Guilds of Fiore to preserve humanity (you're welcome).
Realistically: I have impeccable taste in ice-cream flavors (coffee-chocolate chunk is the best). I love reading (duh), and writing (again, duh), and roleplays and video games and my friends (IRL and online). I have the cutest dog, I fail at NaNo yet I do it again every year (adds to the crazy). I hate heat and extreme cold. I'm going to be an author and video game storyboard designer :D

Attack on Titan

I'm addicted.

Ok, that's an IRL poster of it, but actually it's an anime.

TOO
MANY
FEELS
GOD
DANGIT

D:

I'm only on episode 15 and I've cried three time. THREE TIMES. Do you know how sad something has to be for me to cry? For crying out loud, in 611 One Piece chapter's I've only cried twice. Twice.

FIFTEEN EPISODES
THREE CRYING MOMENTS
WHY!??

Shipping Eren and Mikasa!! <3

Ok, to make myself happier, and if you're part of virtually any fandom, here:
;)

I've got 3 random screen shots

Ah, me and Judex!
"Emma... who's Judex?"
Well, he would also be more commonly known as Luke Skywalker. Unfortunately, I only see him when I decide to hop around aimlessly on my BE Seylari because my MC, Skyta, is on another realm.

Speaking of Skyta, she went back to Gilneas!
^_^ So many memories, I could barely stand it, haha.

Gorgeous sunrise, yeah?

In other news, Skyta is level 48 and working on the Searing Gorge!! :D She was assigned to the Badlands, but they were below her level, so she moved on there. It's pretty intense, and to think I'm only 7 levels away from Death Knight!!

When I reach it, I'm still contemplating which race I should choose. I want to choose Worgen, again, because they're just that epic, but it's still in the air.

^^ LOOK AT IT! LOOK!

OMG.

Ok, maybe I'm freaking out more than what's called for, but let's just say I've been SUPER PSYCED for this every since I saw the banner over GameStop in our local mall (at the time I got my cell phone) screaming in bold lettering:

SO MUCH EPICOTIY!!!!

:)

Sooooo.....

In other news, Skyta is level 44 and in the Eastern Plaguelands!! Getting real tired of zombies around now, but I'm persevering!! ^_^ FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHERE ALL THE FREAKIN ZOMBIES COME FROM!!

The Lich King (spoiler!! Only if you've seen the trailer, which you probably have) is the King of the Undead. So, where are all the undead coming form?? HIM. DUH!! *facepalm* In the Plaguelands, I've finally heard of his name, some dead dwarf proclaiming, "You can never stop the rise of the Lich King!" and other words like that.

New Background

So I was flipping through some WoW fan-made images on their website. And let me tell you they are FREAKIN AMAZING!! There wasn't a single one that made my blood curdle, making me think "and they draw...why?" I'm telling you, all of them were absolutely beautiful!! ^_^

In fact, they were so gorgeous, I decided it was time to change the background. Yes, people, Cheshire from Tim Burtan's Alice in Wonderland is no longer my laptop foreground, but this:

^^ Image credit to owner! ^^

Isn't she just so... epic!? I swear, she looks just like human Skyta, it's so amazing. I'm basing a new character after her. The world is themed as a mixture of WoW and A Cast of Stones, this kinda of medieval-with-magic-long-forgotten-prophecy-etc :)

Episode One

First, I have to explain my trouble with pronouncing r's. You'll definitely notice it in the beginning, but it gets better as I start talking more *it's so embarrassing.*

Oh, and Flint claims to have a "smooth voice." What do you guys think?

OVERALL, what do you think?

Oh, and here's the email I talk about: emmadawnrider (at) yahoo (dot) com

Hope you enjoyed it!

Surprise! No Withdrawal

Ok, so since Wednesday I have not touched a game. That's practically THREE DAYS people!! Unless I'm completely isolated from my computer or internet, I am on some form of video game at least once a day. So three days is huge for me.

And the best part?

No withdrawal!

It sounds really sad, but when I first started W101, P101, WoW, EE, etc, I couldn't put it down. I would play out my battle tactics before I went sleep every night. It's quite sad, I get addicted quite easily. So these three days are very... therapeutic? Ok, I wouldn't go that far.

I also went out driving the other day. Couldn't stop thinking of this:

^^ Image credit to owner ^^

I'm also on chapter 3 of LOTR. Aragorn has already been mentioned. WHAT.

When I was little I used to call him Acorn. I don't know - maybe my speech impediment was worse then (it's better, no worries, I only trip over words on occasion but I know everyone does that).

Level 40

So just to give you guys an update so you don't think I've completely abandoned you: Skyta is level 40 and working in the Dustwallow Marshes. I really don't have anything else except that she bought a mount, and has switched her Specialization to combat (rather than assassination).

Most Epic Anime People

(Note, this is all my own opinion, so don't judge.)

I'm going to do a total of five and find random pictures of them from google; so yeah, I don't own the images, the books and characters, etc...

So... onward!!

5) Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Ok, so one of the most determined people I know (*can recall), Ed's heroic characteristics definitely make him pretty epic. His powers of instant alchemy and protection of those he loves (yes, that's a power), are never ending in surprise.

4) L (Death Note)

For those of you who've seen Death Note, I don't need to explain. However, for those of you who haven't, L is a mastermind, genius, criminal tracker of the unknown. How do you track someone you can't see, don't know their location, and still manage to pick up on subtle hints you never thought worthy of your attention. HIM.

3) Roronoa Zoro (One Piece)

Talk about super strength of will and mind and pure determination of perseverance, I don't think Luffy could find a better first mate.
2) Kisuki Urahara (Bleach)

Ok, you don't want him to be your teacher. Especially if you're a Soul Reaper in training. You won't even know its this guy as your shoved face first into impossible duels that your best friend will solve (you've got no chance). I really want to learn this dudes history already!! (Sincerely, episode 72)

1) Xerxes Break (Pandora Hearts)

...
I'm done.
*walks away*

Nooo! Emily!!
(Image copyright to author. Scan hosted by mangareader.net)

So there you have it my friends!! I now need to find another category to do...

Oh, and I'm not being sexist by not having any girls here. If I had to choose one it would be Erza Scarlet, but I decided on 5 so... Don't hate me! She's awesome! I swear, she's freaking amazing.

Journey to Sunstrider Isle, "You're a long way from home."

Hello everyone! Recently, I became bored with questing in Desolace, so I decided to page dr. google and figure out how to get to Stranglethorn (since I somehow had a quest there). The ending result? I traveled from the bottom of the Eastern Kingdoms all the way to the top.

Duration: 5 hours.

First I had to fly from Desolace back to Darnassus - took a while. It was nighttime so the sky was pretty. In fact, the first 2.5 hours was from 1:00 to 3:30 am for me. Finished it this morning. Guess you can say I'm tired XD

Turns out you can catch a ship in Rut'Theran Village to Stormwind City.

Here I go :D

I started out by going down to Stranglethorn - yeah, I had to trek through Elwynn Forest and Duskwood. That was fun -_- Anyway, when I reached Stranglethorn, I became bored pretty quickly. Not to mention I was chased by Goblins. So I decided, why not start my journey to Silvermoon City? I'm already on the Eastern Kingdoms, so why not?

First I had to get to the bottom of the continent, which would be Booty Bay. I strangely like that place. Very nice. Anyway, I took a griffin ride back up to Stormwind, ran down the harbor, and started swimming!

First checkpoint: the Wetlands.

Checkpoint: Dun Modr

Checkpoint: Athani Highlands

Traveling through Tirisfal Glades.
Deaths: 1

Swimming along the coast of Tirisfal Glades. Once I passed it, an invisible wall blocked me, so I had turn back and go by land.

Traveling through the Western Plaguelands.

Eventually, I was forced to go through the Eastern Plaguelands (levels 40-45) if only to get to the other coastline and swim again.
Deaths: 2

However, I made a fascinating discovery:

THE SIGN SAYS "TO QUEL'THALAS"!!!

Basically, there was this portal at the mountains in the Eastern Plaguelands that brought you straight to the Ghostlands :D
From there... You can figure out the rest yourself.

Destination: Eversong Woods

Deaths: 1 (by guards).
As a ghost I went into Silvermoon City, I can live with that XD

Destination: Sunstrider Isle
As a goal to travel up the entire continent, I made it to Sunstrider Isle and to the top of Falthrien Academy. That dude kneeling in the middle of the place was neutral with me :)

Still not convinced? Think I faked all of it?

BOOM.
I should get a medal. But I wont (but I should).

XD

Next stop? GILNEAS! I can practically go wherever I want to in the Eastern Kingdoms now. I also have four places I can quest: Desolace, the South Barrens, Stranglethorn Vale, and the Western Plaguelands. Left, right, up, or down? Lol.

Just Another Day In The Neighborhood...

So I was walking into the Ghostlands with Aroliana, and my iPod was on shuffle, when a LOTR songs came up with these lyircs:
Where once was light... now darkness falls.
Where once was light... love is no more.
Sung in the saddest voice ever (it's Gollum's Song, btw). It gave me chills...

Pandaren skeleton. Lovely.

Standing on air. Totally natural. Nothing wrong here.

Have I ever told you how much I absolutely LOVE those things??

That would be an Undead and Blood Elf... Awkward.

Anyone else want a restraunt like this? Cause I do. Honestly, a giant pot steaming with rice and dumplings and all things yummy right in front of you so help yourself. That's now added to my bucket list :)

Well, I did get to ride a robot and beat up a bunch of goblins. Anyhoo, why is there a little girl here in the first place other than to be a robotic mastermind?!

In the end, today was extremely productive (well... my definition of productive). Skyta is level 33, I quested Everstyria to level 10 (one day! Not too rare, though), as well as jumped Aroliana from level 8 to 14 where she's now working on the Ghostlands (and hating zombies... nothing new).

Right now, all my characters are in some depressing, "let's fight the zombies", barren area... and I'm not too fond of staying up till 2 am and then having nightmares... I think I'll write some tonight - either editing ABW or planning out Mievren.

OH! I haven't shared my smart moment yet, have I??

Well, two days ago I was hyped up on caramel iced coffee and blabbering on about my new book, Irunda, to my mom, talking about how I might want it to be a series or something, when suddenly I realized TRILOGY!!

Basically, Irunda would be book 3 of the whole thing, because all the characters from 1 and 2 tie together and there's SO MANY heart wrenching feels and GAH! I was freaking out. Anyhoo, Mievren is book 1, and some of it will be up on Figment. Irunda is there as well, too. You should check it out ;D
